Aida Rodriguez

Comedian, Author, Speaker

Born in Boston and raised in the Bronx and Miami, Aida Rodriguez is a comedian, actress, director, producer, and writer. She is currently in development on multiple projects after the success of her HBO MAX special FIGHTING WORDS. After her divorce, Aida moved to LA with her two children and was forced to live out of a car until she could get on her feet. She turned to comedy which quickly landed her a spot as a finalist on NBC’s LAST COMIC STANDING. Following her success on the show, Aida was recognized by many of her fellow comedians including Tiffany Haddish, who hand-picked her for the Netflix comedy stand-up series TIFFANY HADDISH PRESENTS: THEY READY, which to date has performed well for the service. Building off of her accomplishments as a performer, Aida is also an experienced director. She has recently directed Ian Lara’s stand-up special ROMANTIC COMEDY, Marcella Arguello’s BITCH, GROW UP, and two new entries in the ENTRE NOS stand-up series, both for HBO MAX. The positive portrayal and creative excellence of Latinx culture on screen is of utmost importance to Aida, as well as addressing difficult topics such as misogyny and racism through her unique lens.

Aida takes all of her experiences and puts them into her incredible book, LEGITIMATE KID, which was released on October 17th through Harpers Collins.
