Sharon Cruz, Executive Director, Afro Latino Education and Arts Collective

Sharon Cruz, from South Central Los Angeles, is a proud Black Latina of Puerto Rican and African American heritage. She excels as a public speaker, corporate leader, lyricist, and cultural educator, passionately advocating for the Afro-Latino and Afro-Caribbean experience. As the founder of the Afro-Latino Education & Arts Collective and AfroCalifornia, Sharon promotes understanding and celebration of Afro-Latino and Afro-Caribbean heritage. Her decade of exploration in Latin America and the Caribbean deepens her cultural advocacy. In 2023, she launched the first Annual Afro-Latino Culture Fest on the West Coast, reflecting her commitment to cultural education and unity. Sharon Cruz is dedicated to preserving heritage and fostering cultural appreciation.
